Spring 2015
Dear Students,
I maintain this website as a resource for you. I recognize that you probably have a whole lot of “stuff” going on in your lives so having a single portal for your class can only be of help.
This spring 2015 semester I am teaching five classes across three different colleges, organized in the menu above. Tap the name of the college you are attending and then choose a drop down, if needed, to get to your class home page. From there, you will be able to access your course syllabus, schedule, PowerPoint presentations, and handouts. If you are absent for a class, any material covered is accessible from this website.
All students must complete my online form within 24 hours of the end of the first class. The form will provide some basic information about you that will help me make the class as relevant as possible. It also will provide content for our icebreaker exercise, Three Truths and a Lie.
You will also be able to sign up for the Remind text message service so you can receive real-time alerts regarding assignments, reminders, and class schedule changes. These text messages will also appear as alerts on the class home page.
Throughout the semester we will be using Poll Everywhere as a classroom engagement tool. While students can fully participate using simple SMS texting, smartphone users will have a more intuitive experience by downloading the mobile app from the iTunes or Google Play.
Lastly, Suffolk Community students should access the Connect system for LeanSmart and homework assignments from the link on their class home page.
I look forward to a working with you this semester.
Sincerely,
